New Auditorium for August 2010 |
Dear Clients, Partners and Friends of the Congress Center Basel It is with great pleasure that we are writing this editorial for you: in this first Newsletter of 2010 we report on developments that will constitute milestones over the years to come. With the renovation of the Auditorium Montreal in summer 2010, we will be satisfying the aspirations of the MCH Group and the City of Basel to put the focus on national and international top-notch events. Now that the legally binding construction permit has been granted for the new Exhibition Center 2012 this has given us the all-clear for the strategic further development of the Congress Center Basel. The new event hall and the foyers in the City Lounge will provide event venues of previously unknown dimensions. Located right in the heart of the city, the ultra-modern facilities, with rooms for more than 2500 people and a surface area in excess of 150,000 m2, will allow Basel to host conferences and events that were not so easily accommodated in the past. Together with the increasing number of hotel rooms and the city's appeal for accompanying programmes, plus its easy accessibility, the Basel Exhibition Center will offer all the factors that go to make up a successful event in future too. The fact that the possibilities are virtually boundless even today is made clear by the reports on BASELWORLD and the Syngenta Annual General Meeting, two events which stand out as unique examples in their individual categories. We also meet up to changed requirements on a smaller scale: see the report on our sophisticated sound concept, which we have been offering for a good year now And last but not least, we introduce you to Edith Thalmann who has been in charge of Communication at the Congress Center Basel since January and whose commitment will become clear to you upon reading this Newsletter. We look forward to seeing you soon in the Congress Center Basel, Yours sincerely,
