Congress Center Basel: A busy summer 2010 |
Dear Customers, Partners and Friends of the Congress Center Basel Before the holiday period commences, we would like to send you our second Newsletter for 2010 from the Congress Center Basel. First of all, we introduce you to the Brähler Conferencing System that we have selected for your future events in the Montreal Auditorium, as of August 2010. During the summer we are completely revamping the Montreal Auditorium – as was already reported in our last Newsletter. The preparatory work for the new Messe Basel halls is similarly starting in the alleged lull of the summer break. In the period up to 2013, we will be constructing a new event hall, two imposing foyers and also state-of-the-art exhibition halls to supplement the facilities offered by the Congress Center Basel. Ultra-modern and right in the heart of the city, these new additions will permit conferences and events of completely new dimensions to be held in future. "Fasnacht goes Broadway": read the report about the «Drummeli» on this. The most traditional and biggest pre-carnival event is re-inventing itself and is being accompanied by the Congress Center Basel in the process. I am particularly proud of the report that our sales employee, Letizia Elia, has drawn up about her experience at the EXPO Shanghai. As part of the “Manager Exchange Programme” for young management employees, the Congress Center Basel was able to send Ms Elia for a six-week stay in Basel’s lively twin town. I would like to extend a particularly warm welcome to Peter Borer, as a competent new addition to our successful team of technicians in the Congress Center Basel. He has been supporting our long-standing technical manager, Tony Bürgisser, since the start of June 2010. Tom Wunderer, Head of Congresses & Events, takes a critical look at the topic of certification in his specialist article, questioning the endeavours undertaken by the Congress Center Basel itself, for example, to have our quality assurance certified. We wish you all much enjoyment reading our Newsletter and trust that the summer months will not be too hectic for you. Yours sincerely,
